“Hana goes above and beyond…every time…regarding service, knowledge, attention, and care. I am recommended products snd services based on personal hair needs and recently received mini samples so I could try new products to learn what works best prior to purchase. A great deal of time is spent on an individual’s needs and rarely have I ever felt there was too much going on that I wasn’t the main focus throughout my appointment. Hana’s space is tiny, yet great effort has been made to organize and maximize the salon, which provides a sense of comfort. I cannot speak more highly of Hana’s service.

4-stars was selected largely due to reasons outside of Hana’s control. I find the cost for service inline with similar salons, yet the overall expense continues to amaze me due to the inequity between male and female cost…and hair care costs in general. The location is on a busy street, limiting privacy. And I likely expect Hana to perform miracles on hair that has changed so much due to age, cancer, and abuse, that I am never fully satisfied with the look. Hana makes it appear healthy though, which is commendable.

I highly recommend Hana and Akai Hair Design to everyone, of all hair types.”

Hana has the precision of a Samurai warrior – must be part of her background. Did a nice men’s cut and color – keeps me looking at least 10 years younger.

My first visit to Hana, and she was special. She was patient, took the time to ask questions, discuss my needs and wants, and she was generous with her teaching as well! We had a wide-ranging, stimulating conversation. I felt welcome and comfortable. And I left with a hair cut and colour that I truly love. With fine, aging hair, that is something to say.
